I am an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where I contribute to macroeconomic surveillance, policy design, and analytical work on macroeconomic policies. My recent work focuses on the macro-fiscal implications of climate variability and the economic assessment of climate adaptation policies, including the development of cost-benefit frameworks to guide public investment decisions in vulnerable economies of Latin America and the Caribbean.
As part of my role, I regularly participate in IMF missions—official country visits conducted in close collaboration with national authorities. This involves engaging directly with senior government officials and central bank representatives to discuss economic developments, advise on policy strategies, and support the formulation of macroeconomic frameworks tailored to country-specific challenges.
I have also contributed to the design and implementation of analytical toolkits that support macroeconomic assessments by country teams, including the use of dynamic general equilibrium (DGE) models to evaluate medium-term fiscal and structural policy scenarios in diverse economic settings.
My broader research agenda centers on the quantitative evaluation of macroeconomic policies. I apply empirical and structural approaches, including Bayesian time series models to examine the time-varying nature of fiscal policy, and New Keynesian dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models to investigate the historical and prospective impacts of macroeconomic shocks and reforms.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from City, University of London.
